When it comes to our human body, there are various requirements to keep it functioning smoothly every single second. There are multiple processes going on simultaneously that we don't even think about or consider often. To keep things moving smoothly, several organs function parallelly. For instance during sleep, we have our heart, brain, kidneys, lungs, etc., all working together to keep our body functioning. With so many different body functions, each function has different needs.

Our body primarily needs food in the form of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, water, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Some could be required lesser or more than the others which would also vary from person to person. These nutrients are required to provide the necessary energy to carry out the numerous functions and processes. These requirements would not remain constant, rather constantly change with internal factors such as changes in our body due to age, medical conditions, exercise routine etc., as well as external factors such as change in location, weather, etc.

The key here is to strike a balance to get the right combination of intake needed. It is important to provide the sufficient amount of nutrients which would provide for the body functions and processes. It is simple yet a complex goal to achieve, but with the right guidance quite an achievable target.

Try to understand and take guidance on a well balanced diet based on your body requirements and lifestyle. This would contribute substantially towards a healthier life.

Welcome to CuddlyMorsel - a nutrition and health focused platform, started by me - Ritika Wadhawan. I am a certified nutritionist and dietitian, based out of Mumbai.

As far back as I can recall, since childhood, a major chunk of my memories and stories have revolved around food. It could be sitting in the kitchen with my grandma and observing her cook or a vivid memory of a mango shake stall we visited frequently. I guess I owe it to my love for food and cooking that I was able to learn a few recipes and how to cook them at a very early age. While I was doing my graduation, post-graduation and corporate jobs, my relationship with food & cooking kept growing stronger, and I started giving my own twists to every recipe that I had ever learnt.

Realizing that food and everything related to it is what I am most passionate about, I started CuddlyMorsel. I have tried to document here my learnings, observations and findings around food by categorizing it into nutrition, healthy cooking, healthy living and some interesting food stories.
